As our name suggests, here at Evolve Companies, we believe in constant growth and change. Part of that evolution includes identifying potential challenges and working our magic to overcome them! We at Evolve know that change is inevitable. So we work hard to figure out the best shifts to implement in order to ensure we’re exceeding expectations as a company. Evolve Spotlight: Our COO
In 2023, we welcomed Michael Spafford to the team as Evolve’s COO. For over 33 years, Michael has been involved in the construction of multi-family projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. His experience working with companies to help identify and execute points for growth is part of what brought him onto our radar.
Before his COO role at Evolve, Michael helped a small contractor firm grow and re-establish themselves following a lapse in successorship. His eye-catching work immediately grabbed Evolve’s attention. Because Evolve is a company always looking for ways to improve our work and structure, Michael’s eye for finding areas of growth was something we knew we wanted.
Ready to grow at Evolve
Michael spent his first few months as Evolve’s COO observing our procedures. From there, he developed our Operational Solutions Plan. After diving into the challenges Michael identified and solutions he presented, we knew we were ready to grow.
Our biggest priority at Evolve became expanding our team. To ensure each member of our team can focus on their strengths and specialized tasks, we’re implementing the plan Michael drew up to recruit and hire new staff members. Since November 2023, Evolve has hired 25+ new employees to multiple projects. This has immensely improved the quality of our work, our community, and the communities we are so proud to be involved in!
We’re grateful to Michael for being the (r)evolutionary COO that he is, and we’re excited to see what he does next at Evolve!

Located on the East Coast of Florida—just 45 minutes South of Jacksonville and 30 minutes North of Daytona Beach—Evolve Palm Coast is an ideal location to plant roots! Healthcare is one of the major industries in the area with employment opportunities including AdvantHealth, Flagler Health+, and UNF.

Evolve as a Business of Distinction in 2024
Here at Evolve, we pride ourselves on being a company that builds communities for people who live outside the box. We know your home is where it all happens, so we want it to feel unique—just like you—and our hope is that we can bring that same vibe into everything we do!
We started 2024 with the absolute honor of being recognized as a Business of Distinction in Wilmington, NC! Wrightsville Beach Magazine featured Evolve Companies in their amazing Green Spaces article, highlighting the plants we have at the center of our design—both in our Wilmington headquarters and at our communities.
Greenery in our workspaces at Evolve
The power of plants can lift the mood in any space—so what better place for plants that double as art than in a workspace? And the plants don’t even need to be real to elevate the environment! Amanda Lisk with Wrightsville Beach Magazine wrote, “Whether real or faux, adding plants to a room elevates the aesthetic, the mood, and the oxygen level when live. Plants just make everything better,” and we totally agree.
In our Wilmington headquarters, we’ve added lush (sometimes faux) plants wherever possible—from table centerpieces to stunning artwork framed on the walls.
Thanks to our friends at The Coastal Succulent, Evolve’s Wilmington headquarters has come to life with plants that set us apart—literally with our 8-foot gorilla topiary in the courtyard. Shawna Raines, our Development/Marketing Coordinator shared with the magazine that people who see the gorilla from the street even stop to take photos with it.

Keeping things fresh at Evolve communities
Part of our commitment to evolve the way you live is by keeping things fresh in our communities! One of our newer projects, Oceans RV Resort, is a different take on your typical RV park. This isn’t your basic spot to camp for the night!
As unique as Oceans RV Resort is, we wanted to bring the aesthetic to life with plants. Framed plant artwork and centerpieces dispersed throughout the resort are sure to catch your eye!

A look back at our evolution in 2023
We can hardly believe the end of 2023 is right around the corner, but ya know what they say—time flies when you’re havin’ fun! At Evolve Companies, our mission is to keep growing so that we can help you do the same. 2023 was BIG, and we can’t wait for what’s to come next year.
So kick up your feet and join us for the journey as we look back at our evolution in 2023 and get excited about where we’re headed in 2024.
Evolve at North Shore
Sneads Ferry, SC
Evolve at North Shore is nestled in the coastal town of Sneads Ferry, NC, just down the road from North Topsail Beach. Surrounded by top employers and schools, delicious restaurants, and great shopping, you’re sure to feel right at home.
The community’s one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes are luxurious with a fresh, modern design. Each kitchen at Evolve at North Shore boasts granite countertops, undermount sinks, and stainless steel appliances. You’ll also find stunning backsplashes and open layouts, making it a dream to gather with friends and family.
When the weather gets warmer, you won’t want to miss out on enjoying the resort-style saltwater swimming pool with its picnic and grilling pavilion. Evolve at North Shore also offers a 24-hour fitness center with a yoga and cycling room, a business center, and a Starbucks coffee bar in the clubhouse. You’ll even find a golf simulator and electric car charging stations.

Even more big news: we’re expanding into Florida! Evolve at Palm Coast, on the East Coast of the state, will have 12 buildings with 256 units.
