From hiking trails and waterfalls to restaurants and breweries, you’ll always find something near your community to help evolve the way you live. Cullowhee, NC
At Evolve, we’re all about getting outside, and 808 West and Summit at Cullowhee are surrounded by great spots to explore. When you take off on your next staycation you won’t want to miss Paradise Falls Hiking Trail. It’s a 15-minute hike to a stunning waterfall—the perfect spot to stay cool during the hot summer months. Blue Ridge Parkway, about 20 minutes away, is one of the most well-known roads in the country, offering incredible sprawling views and beautiful hiking trails.
If you’re craving a day at the beach, Lake Glenville is the perfect spot. Within 30 minutes of Cullowhee, the lake has public beach accesses that are great for swimming, fishing, and picnicking with friends.
When you’re ready for food and drinks, check out Innovation Brewing. They have plenty of outdoor seating, food trucks and delicious beer. And you can’t skip the cherry on top with a stop by Jack the Dipper for ice cream or a shake!
Greensboro, NC
For our 2918 North residents, Greensboro has so much to offer! You can’t go wrong with a visit to the Greensboro Science Center—this place truly has it all. Not only can you explore the aquarium, museum, and zoo, but there are so many other experiences to choose from! SKYWILD is essentially a ropes course designed to allow participants to experience different animal behaviors in the wild—like waddling, crawling, leaping, and so much more.
A favorite stop for great beer is Joymongers. This small batch brewing company offers a delicious and unique variety of beer in an awesome gathering spot. With plenty of outdoor seating and food trucks galore, this is a place you won’t want to miss!
Knoxville, TN
Residents of 811 East Downtown know that Knoxville in the summer is the place to be! We love that Market Square has such a variety of entertainment from movies in the park and concerts to restaurants and boutiques. There’s always so much to see and do within the square.
For those days you’re dying to get active outdoors, be sure to check out Ijams Nature Center. With hiking, biking, paddling, and swimming, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and you’ll never be bored! Mead’s Quarry, a wildlife sanctuary just minutes from downtown, is another great spot for hiking, paddle boarding and kayaking. Surrounded by stunning, tall rock cliffs, you’ll have scenic views as you watch for red-tailed hawks, turkey vultures and owls.
Sneads Ferry, NC
For our residents of Evolve at Stones Bay, a summertime staycation isn’t hard to do! Located just 6 miles from North Topsail Beach, Stones Bay residents can easily spend the whole day relaxing on the sand and keeping cool in the ocean. What’s not to love?!
Stop by Rick’s Restaurant & Sports Bar on the way home from the beach. They have an awesome variety of food and drinks—it’s a great place to refuel after a day in the sun!
Asheville, NC
If you’re all about history, getting outdoors and enjoying delicious food and craft beer, a staycation near Mountain View is just what you need. Spend an afternoon touring the incredible Biltmore Estate. Take a guided hike, explore the lush gardens, enjoy a wine tasting, and learn all about America’s largest home!
When you want to kick back and relax in the hot summer sun, check out the lazy river at Zen Tubing. You’ll be taken to the starting point of the river, and as you make your way down, you’ll be free to stop and swim as much as you’d like!
Sierra Nevada is another awesome spot to spend the afternoon. With an expansive outdoor space, it’s the perfect spot for enjoying a drink in the warm Asheville summer.
When you’ve worked up an appetite, be sure to check out Curate Tapas Bar for amazing Spanish cuisine. Another favorite is Posana—stop by for drinks at the bar or a locally sourced, seasonable meal in their inviting dining space or patio.
